Nursery
7:00am – 3:00pm. Early language, motor skills and gentle Islamic character formation.
Our Story
Islamic education in Ghana's Zongo communities has long been carried by the Makaranta — traditional schools run by Mallams. Darussalam Islamic School was established in Zabarma Line, Dansoman in 2023 and inaugurated in January 2024, with an 18-unit classroom block spanning Nursery through JHS 3 — answering a growing need for a modern academic institution that still holds firmly to Islamic moral and ethical discipline.
Today the school actively serves children from Shukura, Russra, Banana Inn, Dansoman, Kaneshie Zongo and Chorkor — giving underserved inner-city Zongo communities access to a balanced, faith-rooted education.
To build and maintain a learning community that produces leaders through faith, knowledge, and inspiration.
To develop an enriched learning community that promotes academic achievement, leadership, and Islam.
Core Values: Discipline · Academic Excellence · Religious Excellence

Life at Darussalam
Children are handed over directly to teachers on duty, with parents required to notify staff of any change in pick-up arrangements.
Applicants for KG, Primary and JHS complete an entrance examination in Maths and English to ensure the right academic fit.
The GES curriculum runs alongside Arabic, French, Ga and Qur'anic studies — secular and spiritual excellence, side by side.
A dedicated kitchen department provides mandatory, nutritious daily meals, with parents notified weekly for feeding fees.
A clear uniform code Monday through Friday instils tidiness and consistency as part of daily character formation.
Actively welcoming children from Shukura, Russra, Banana Inn, Dansoman, Kaneshie Zongo and Chorkor.
